Cupid (drabble)
Apr. 18th, 2010 02:01 pm title: Cupid
author:
awesomechick15
pairing: Akanishi Jin/Kamenashi Kazuya
rating: G
genre: slice of life, annoyed ex-roommate
disclaimer: I don't own Akanishi Jin or Kamenashi Kazuya.
summary: Yamapi takes matters in his own hands.
warnings: Yamapi is evil.
Yamapi doesn't really think he's smart. He's a normal guy with a college degree, but his mind ain't brilliant or exceptional on any way. In middle school, he wasn't the smartest kid in class, his grades were average; he just drew and had fun. So no, if someone asks Yamapi if he really thinks he's as smart as his statements seem to be, his answer is negative.
But that doesn't mean he's not convinced with his statement. That's one thing he's damn proud of.
Yamapi has known Jin since, well, forever. At least that's what it feels like. They first met in high school, where they became soon best friends even with their incongruous assets. Jin was social and played football, he was every girl's daydream (even with his weird hobbies he never told anyone else except Yamapi about), where Yamapi was a bit more quiet and the start student of art class. Actually that talent continued to be his future profession; being a mangaka didn't really pay you well if you didn't get enough readers, but Yamapi still enjoyed it. Jin had ended up differently. He was a hairdresser now, not the dream boy who played sports, hung out with good-looking friends and oversized everything, saying he'd be a professional football player someday. But Yamapi didn't care, he wasn't even sad. Because Jin was happy now; Jin was being himself now.
They shared a history and Yamapi dared to say he knew Jin better than anyone else. He was also an expert in reading Jin's emotions and actions, turning them into words and messages. That was why it didn't take him long to realize Jin was in love with Kamenashi. Obviously that clarification didn't miss Kame's eyes either; he was a smart kid, after all, probably smarter than Jin and Yamapi combined.
But what Kame didn't know was that Yamapi was aware of his feelings as well. After Yamapi had moved out of Jin's apartment, where he had lived as a roommate for quite some time and Kame moved in, he started to observe the two. And even though Kame loved teasing Jin and messing with his head, flirting but staying innocent, Yamapi knew exactly how much he actually liked Jin. No, Yamapi hadn't missed those looks when Kame thought no one was looking. It was almost ridiculous how Jin and Kame played cat and mouse around each other, unable to tell their feelings to each other.
Jin, Yamapi understood him. He was so oblivious that Kame could have screamed his love to his face and Jin would still have been suspicious. But Kamenashi, his mind was bright. He was smug and sarcastic but also a good guy. Why couldn't he confess, why did he tease? Of course Kame had issues of his own. Yamapi knew that even though he studied in Bunka fashion school, he was uncertain about his sexuality. (It was clear Yamapi's inner gaydar almost blew up when Kame was around, but that didn't mean the young man thought the same.) And it seemed that Kame had a girlfriend. Not in Tokyo, but in the town he came from. And he was having lots of problems with breaking up with her.
Usually Yamapi didn't mess with his friends' love life. But now it felt like a responsibility. Kame had become his friend too during the months he had lived with Jin, and Jin would kick Yamapi in the head if he ever denied their friendship. Besides, watching those two lovebirds wander around each other was frustrating. That was the main reason why Yamapi didn't feel guilty at all while walking towards his car, rolling keys around his finger. There were screams (high-pitched, the man noted to himself) coming out of Jin's apartment building's warehouse, but Yamapi didn't do what they told him to (Yamashita Tomohisa, open the fucking door right now or I'll rip your balls off). Instead he smiled slightly and stepped inside his car.
Jin and Kame could easily spend a nice little afternoon there. Warehouses were more comfortable with someone else with you, and playing Cupid was extremely entertaining.
a/n: I'M SOWWEEEEH. I said the next update would be multi-chaptered, but I couldn't resist! This thing just... came. ;< I also created a sticky post for this 'verse (and my other fics in future), easier to find 'em. And I named it. I FREAKING NAMED IT, HAHAHA idk why that is even relevant. The Awesome Random Roommate Series. The title for that 'verse is as crappy and as random as I am, so hey, it fits! (though I'm greatly bothered by the fact its short name by initials is arrms.)

Date: 2010-04-18 01:13 pm (UTC)But this drabble kinda set the whole series as it mentioned a lot of Jin's background and some of Kame's. Very nice... So now we know why Kame didn't just confess.
//I think my favourite line in this drabble was Yamapi and how his gaydar almost blew up when he was around. EPIC!
Looking forward to more drabbles in this verse~ &hearts&hearts&hearts
