”He's hot,” a wide-faced girl said, fumbling with a large, red pimple on her chin. She stared at a poster of a young, about 25-year-old guy with a bright smile, deep eyes and a handsome face. Slightly crooked nose, high cheekbones, slender body. His motionless face on the piece of paper was something everyone stopped to stare.
”Yeah,” another girl standing next to her friend agreed fondly, head tilted a bit. ”Shame he's dead though.”
”What was his name again? Katonashi?”
”Kamenashi.”
”Oh.”

Girls turned around, starting to laugh at some joke the wide-faced one told half-heartedly. Their backs disappeared in the crowd soon, and the poster was all alone again. Not for long, though – only in few minutes a shop assistant came and ripped it off from the shop window, replacing it with a face of some young girl who had debuted few weeks ago.

It was amazing how people could get forgotten so fast. Week ago Kamenashi Kaoru had been one of Japan's most succesful newcomers with his hit single and angelic face. Yes, now he was a young promise with a tragic death, but it wouldn't be even two weeks until media had let the topic go. Maybe a month or less, before his former fangirls found someone else to drool at. No big deal, not a huge loss for anyone.

Thought brought a bitter taste on Kazuya's tongue. He blinked his eyes few times before turning around, just like others. He knew he should have been with his family right now, saying comforting words and waiting patiently for Mom to fall asleep, stop crying helplessly and then listen to her wail in her dreams, repeating the name of her eldest son desperately. Like that would ever bring Kaoru back. But he couldn't look at it, not anymore - he wanted out of that circle before it became too familiar, before he couldn't turn around and walk away from it. It will get better in time, his aunt had said. But it had been only seven days and he already couldn't stand others' misery. How was he supposed to wait?

He was an adult now, anyway. He wanted his own life and home. Of course it was selfish, but hell, Kaoru had always gotten all the attention. Always. From four siblings, he was the wonderchild. The chosen one. Kazuya couldn't say that feelings waking up from his brother's death would all be only misery and loss. He felt annoyed, frustrated for the fact that whenever he had just taken a big step, he had to take two back.

Now he was stuck with his family again for God knew how long, studio apartment in downtown waiting for him, filled with barely moving air and emptiness. He had just moved in, cardboard boxes still waiting around. But that would have been better to live in, a sign of change.

Of course Kazuya understood it was better to be home. His other siblings lived far away – other one studying hard in China, other one with a fiancée in Okinawa. They couldn't be there for their parents – especially Mom – but Kazuya could. He was the only one left.

Maybe it would have been easier if Kaoru's death had been natural, Kazuya summed up while turning around and starting to walk downhill. Or something he had caused by himself – drug overdose, alcohol, car accident. Anything. But when Kazuya had heard that his oldest brother had been found alone from his home, flesh mutilated, eyes ripped out, an expression of horror on his cold face, he couldn't process the thought. Why would anyone even try to murder Kaoru? Police had no clues, no hints regarding the killer. Like he had vanished to thin air.

A faint ring. Kazuya picked his cell phone and answered without looking at the caller ID.
Kame-chan,” a familiar voice said with vivacious tone. ”What's up?”
Kame's first answer was unaccountable grunting, before he sighed. ”Nothing, much. I'm heading home, Mom hasn't probably slept at all. Why are you calling?”
Tegoshi's voice didn't vibrate at all. He was like that; usually his attitude could be anything from a big, stupid smile splitting his face in two to pouty, angry thunder clouds almost literally wandering over his head – but whenever the situation became sad, intolerable, he suddenly turned all optimistic and cheerful. Maybe it was some kind of defense.

Do you think Masami-san would like sake? I want to give her something.
”Oh God, no,” Kazuya groaned. ”She'll turn alcoholic in the second she gets any kind of alcohol. I would like some, though.”
Then come over,” Tegoshi suggested. ”You need a break, anyway. Or! We could go out! Get wasted!
”Yuya, you know I can't come. Not now.”
Come on, you need something to take your thoughts off... him,” Tegoshi's voice finally faltered when he tried to choose words. Kaoru? Brother? Him? Kazuya got almost some kind of sick satisfaction from hearing Tegoshi's mask break down slowly. ”If not anything else, then alcohol. It will make everything better for a while.
”And everything even worse tomorrow morning,” Kazuya pointed out. ”But I like that.”
There you go,” Tegoshi cheered a bit. ”I promise, you'll seriously feel better.
”I wonder...”
Maybe he had always been a little bit covetous for alcohol. His usage got out of hands easily.
Around seven, that new bar close to Subaru's.
Kazuya didn't even have time to answer, before Tegoshi had ended the call. Probably afraid he would decide otherwise.

It might have been a little bit wrong to even think about partying - disappointing. Kazuya didn't really care, not now.

♦ ♣ ♥

Night air was freezing nowadays. Kazuya shivered slightly and pulled his hood, trying to make it cover his neck as much as possible. He made his steps faster, shadows dancing around him. He hated walking alone at dark, especially on Friday. Of course few city lights gave him some guidance, but he still probably couldn't even recognize his own face from a mirror. Noises of traffic were setting somewhere far away; living in a peaceful neighborhood had some good sides.

Though Tegoshi hadn't given any further explanations or directions, Kazuya knew what he was talking about. Two months ago a new bar had opened up, like Tegoshi said, ”close to Subaru's” - actually only one block away. Kazuya had seen it twice, but never visited. Bar was called Wonderland, but he had no idea where the name came from; it sounded very unusual for a bar, also a modern one.

Others were already waiting for him outside. Kazuya raised his hand lazily to greet them and finally stopped after distance of 2 metres. Looked like Tegoshi had invited only the closest friends within; there weren't many people. Subaru, Ryo and Koki were the only ones there. Of course except for Tegoshi, who was literally bouncing his way to Kazuya.
”Hi, you!” he cheered, and grabbing Kazuya's hand like a high school lover. ”We've been waiting for you.”
Subaru's smile was much more gentle and a little bit sad. ”How have you been?”
Kazuya didn't answer, only shrugged. That was a stupid question in general, it made him slightly frustrated again. Ryo, who was known to be very bad of his mouth, like an angry little midget always using words as spikes, was also quiet. He just patted Kazuya's shoulder gently. Koki guided them in, everyone but Tegoshi, who looked like Christmas had arrived early this year, more or less gloomy.

The bar was surprisingly full, but they managed to find their own corner. Subaru had to steal a chair from the neighbor table, and that didn't make former owner very happy. He still managed to avoid a black eye and soon everyone was sitting comfortably, Ryo ordering first drinks.
”For Kaoru?” Subaru asked from Kazuya, lifting up his margarita. ”Before we get miserably wasted and Ryo hits the dance floor and scares everyone with vision away.”
Kazuya grinned, expression not reaching his eyes, and nodded.

After first round Ryo was grinning like mad, almost looking like Tegoshi's evil twin. He was always like that after having an idea. Usually a bad one. ”I'll order the second round.”
”... You're not trying to poison us, are you?” Koki asked suspiciously, but Ryo didn't obviously hear him, already off to order.
”I wonder what it will be this time,” Subaru sighed and others complied.
”How's your mother?” Koki suddenly asked from Kazuya, making him blink in confusion. Of course he should have expected that question – Koki had known the Kamenashi family since, well, forever. He became Kazuya's best friend back in middle school and had been around ever since. With right now blonde and short hair and puppy eyes of his he was the most sensitive one, had always been. Koki had tried to hide that with his looks – a tattoo, wild hair styles, picking up rapping as a hobby...
”Not that good,” Kazuya answered simply, but continued soon. ”She's mentally unbalanced. Doctor – and Kumiko-san – says it will go away in time, but I don't really believe that. I think she has lost it for good.”
”Don't say that!” Subaru exclaimed, obviously not able to decide if he should be horrified or angry. ”Of course she hasn't!”

Kazuya didn't answer. Koki and Tegoshi started to talk about something they wished would make atmosphere better. Meanwhile Subaru had to defend himself again from former chair lunatic's verbal attacks – that guy didn't seem to give up. Kazuya used his spare time between a nice, cozy buzz and drunkenness to observe the bar, so-called Wonderland. Place was crowded, people drinking and laughing, someone making out in the dim. Air smelled like smoke and alcohol, a passerby's perfume scent mixing them. There was music playing on the background – fast enough for a provoking night, slow enough to avoid drunken customers dancing on tables.

”Be amazed.”
Kazuya blinked and stared at the glass in front of him. Ryo had finally come back, still the same big smile plastered on his face. Kazuya noticed he wasn't only one looking startled. He had never seen that stuff anymore; glass full of bright green liquid, looking so innocent yet dangerous.
”I said he's going to poison us,” Koki made a note. Ryo rolled his eyes.
”It's absinthe, you moron,” he explained like it was the most obvious thing in the world. After that he started grinning again – this time with smugness included. ”Drink. I think you guys will like it.”

♦ ♣ ♥

It was a strange feeling. Kazuya knew he was drunk – his vision was blurred, legs weren't working at all, moderate nausea was forming in his stomach. But he could think clearly, realize things and have real feelings. It was like being trapped into a useless body. Of course this didn't really come across to anyone looking at him. He was stumbling, smelling like alcohol, cursing to himself, taking support from places not actually designed for that. He looked like a failior.

Kazuya didn't know where others were. Tegoshi had passed out long time ago, and soon after Subaru had taken him with him. Koki and Ryo were with Kame all night, but when they tried to switch the bar, Kame lost them. He couldn't hear his cell phone ringing, so either Ryo and Koki were too drunk to dial his number or he wasn't really that needed.

That kinda sucked, Kazuya decided. He didn't dare to go over to Subaru's, and now he couldn't try to follow Koki or Ryo to their place. There was one sure thing; in this condition, he would not head to his parents' home. Hell no. He didn't even want to know what they would think. It would be better to spend the whole night away than come home totally wasted. But where else could he go?

He stumbled upon a can and then it hit him. His home.
Keys had to be somewhere – he was wearing the same jacket as when he had come over to his parents, and if absinthe wasn't playing tricks on him, keys to his own apartment were in his pocket. Kazuya pushed his hand roughly first in the right one – nothing. He felt a little bit disappointed, but then tried the left one and – voila. Cold metal had never felt this good against his fingertips. Kazuya turned around the corner nd smiled widely for no apparent reason. His apartment wasn't that far away, and even drunk he could definitely make it there.

Or could have. Nausea started rising in halfway and his movements started to slow down, people staring while walking past him. After all he did make it to his building, even in his own floor, but ended up vomiting in front of a neighbor's door. All Kazuya could form in his mind by now was a series of swear words, and he had a long and desperate fight with his own lock for multiple minutes.

Kazuya had always thought empty apartments were the most creepy ones.

He didn't have lights yet, only water. There was cardboard boxes everywhere, but only real furniture was his sofa. Door let out a quiet slam behind him, and cold air started to slowly circle around. Kazuya sighed and tried to kick his shoes off, then ripping his jacket and dropping it to the floor. He didn't even have a futon yet, so couch had to be enough.

Roof was high, but rooms were small. One window was hidden with curtains, and Kazuya opened them – only to find ugly view of fire escape and opposite apartment building. He ruffled his hair, deciding he needed water. Kitchen sink wasn't fully set up yet, so Kazuya left for bathroom, feeling parquet change into tile. His whole bathroom was white and black – or was going to be, since the bath wasn't set up yet either.

Kazuya leaned wobblily on the washbasin. For a while all he did was breathing, catching his thoughts again. Nausea had disappeared for a minute, but he knew it would come back soon. He turned the tap on and waited for water to be cold before pushing his head under it, hands grabbing the washbasin better for support.

Suddenly Kazuya heard something. A bit like a slam. He blinked his eyes open and turned the tap off. When he couldn't hear anything again, he sighed in delight and continued drinking. It would have been awkward if his neighbor had noticed the vomit. Kazuya still drank for a while, feeling his head getting more clear, before finally pulling his head away and turning the tap again. He blew some wet strands of hair off from his face and then straightened.

The mirror in front of him was old and a bit dusty, but usable anyway. Kazuya attempted to fix his hair better, but didn't even get to touch it before he was stopped by breath catching in his throat.

There was someone behind him.

♦ ♣ ♥

Akanishi Jin liked his daily nap very much. Usually it followed right after lunch hour, when everything was quiet and he didn't have anything important to do. On good days Jin rewarded himself with a donut (his endless love and obsession for them could have been weird for someone else), on bad ones he just used his arm as a pillow and slept. Today had been a good day. No important tasks, the ones he had done had went well. That was why besides Jin, on his desk, was a opened donut box. He, in all his holiness, was happily snoring, cheek against the surface of his desk.

Jin was happily dreaming about unicorns, flowers and next meal, when he was woken up roughly – someone evil and cruel grabbed his shoulder with a strong hand and shook it with all force. Jin almost screamed while sitting hastily up, kicking a trash can and hitting his knee on desk corner. He was still hissing in pain and massaging his damaged knee with grudge, when the Evil Waker started talking.

”YOU,” he said, pointing at Jin actressily, ”have a job. You're getting the Kamenashi case,” the Evil Waker said. He was, though, known better with name Kitagawa Shin. That made Jin, a man in his early twenties (pretty hair, plump limps, hips that could kill among women, piercing screams – single, thank you very much) blink.
”Kamenashi? For Kamenashi Kaoru? Wasn't he murdered?” Jin asked, tilting his head. ”You know, to my knowledge, our job is to keep people from dying. I didn't know we're expanding to already dead ones.”
”Very funny,” Kitagawa snorted. ”Not Kaoru, Kazuya. But you were close, since we are talking about Kaoru's brother.”
Kitagawa handed Jin a pile of papers. On the top of it was pictures of almost empty apartment, filled with blood and cardboard boxes kicked over. Jin's eyebrows rose drastically.
”Those are pictures from crime scene yesterday,” Kitagawa explained. ”Police is investigating, but what I hear, it seems like the attacker would have vanished in thin air. They were even suspecting Kamenashi attacked himself,” he said, and made Jin even more confused.
”Attacked himself?”
”Apparently he had been drinking absinthe,” Kitagawa shrugged. ”But then they found one of his windows opened and some fingerprints they couldn't identify. Kamenashi's picture is on the next page.”
Jin was about to snort something like 'I'm not that stupid', but instead just turned the page. Kamenashi Kazuya was really alike to his brother, it seemed – same kind of face, just a bit rougher and younger. And different hair. He was somewhat good-looking, on a strange, inexplicable way.
”Police thinks we are talking about a serial killer here. It can't be pure coincidence that first a man gets murdered and a week later, same time, his brother almost suffers the same faith.”
”Is it a pattern? Like, all brothers or something?”
”We don't know. If it is, then it's not sorted out with age. Kaoru was the eldest one in Kamenashi family, Kazuya youngest. Between them is two children. They live far away though, other one in Okinawa and other one in China, so we can't be sure.”
Jin hummed and started to flip the pages randomly.

”So, what's my part in all this?” he asked then, curiously but already somewhat knowing the answer.
”They are moving Kamenashi in a new location,” Kitagawa explained. ”Top secret, even I don't know. They want two bodyguards to be with him 24/7. I have decided to send you and Yamashita. Yamashita will be in charge of his movements and vehicles – he drives the car, checks the areas, that kind of stuff. You will be more personal with Kamenashi, in charge of his personal and instant safety.”
Jin couldn't find any words. He didn't have much experience – actually, he had arrived in the company only six months ago. He was 23! Jin had never been expecting to guard someone in the aim of a serial killer so soon.
”What if I say no?”
”They pay well,” Kitagawa notified. ”And you get free donuts.”
”I'm in,” Jin said immediately, but it wasn't like he really had much choice.

Kitagawa left, his back disappearing in his office. Jin was left with the paper pile, and because he was a) a curious personality, b) bored, he decided to give it a try. On these pages was written basically everything about Kamenashi Kazuya from current toenail length to favourite childhood shack. These informations would become handy in some point (or not, like Jin predicted).

Kamenashi Kazuya was born on February 23rd and apparently two years younger than Jin. That would make him 21 years old. Kazuya's family history was pretty reasonable. Mother and father, four children. Oldest one Kamenashi Kaoru, dead, 25 years old when dying. Occupation: musician. The second son was Kamenashi Naoki, 24 years old and what the hell – he lived in Okinawa with a wife who was 8 months pregnant, so young! Occupation: cashier, studying to be a dentist. Third son – no, wait, daughter - was Kamenashi Yuki, 22 years old, who lived currently in China, studying to be a stylist. There was a picture of her, and Jin couldn't help staring. It was unprofessional, but damn, she was hot. Then there was Kamenashi Kazuya, 21 years old, studying to be a-- wait, what? A fashion designer in Bunka?

Jin frowned at the mention of Kazuya's mother, Kamenashi Masami's weakened state of mind. She had been suffering from moderate depression before and was on multiple pills, but there was a doctor's statement telling that after Kaoru's death she had broken down. Didn't sound fun.

Kamenashi family had lived in a small village about an hour away from Tokyo for some time. That was where Kamenashi Osamu had met his future wife, Hara Masami, and where they had gotten married. Children were born in very short time frames, and after Naoki's birth Kamenashis decided to move in bigger circles. So they got a home from Tokyo and lived still in the same house.

There wasn't much special warnings about Kamenashi Kazuya. He had been very keen on baseball, but left it for a bigger dream of becoming a fashion designer (this made Jin's gaydar beep like there was no tomorrow). His grades were good, and in high school Kazuya had attended many activities. He had moved to his own apartment only a month ago, which was pretty late for Jin, but well – everyone should go on with their own style.

Because of police investigation there was also a list of Kazuya's closest friends and ex-partners, currently he was single. Jin wasn't surprised at all when he found mostly pictures of men in the ”former lovers” section. Kamenashi couldn't name any significant enemy of his, but his closest friends were Tanaka Koki, Nishikido Ryo, Tegoshi Yuya, Shibutani Subaru and Ueda Tatsuya. Tanaka had been around since middle school – there was even a picture of him and Kazuya together. They looked like high schoolers, but Jin couldn't be sure. Nishikido and Tegoshi were friends from high school, Shibutani had appeared later. Ueda was a new fellow from Bunka. There was also a big list of names belonging to Kazuya's 'mates', not that important friends.

Kamenashi wasn't sick on any way, though there was a list of his hospital visits in past. Mostly broken bones and stuff, probably from baseball, but also one febrile seizure from the time he was little. That could mean Kamenashi still got easily feverish. Jin was glad getting first aid kits and meds from pharmacy would be Yamashita's job, not his. It wasn't like he didn't like Yamashita, the guy was pretty nice outside of work, but he took working way too seriously. With that expressionless face of his Yamashita Tomohisa looked like an emo goldfish.

On Kitagawa's girly handwriting there was also mention about Kazuya's own memory of last night. Attacker was described as about same height as him, slender, male. No better information. The fact Kazuya had been drunk at the time didn't probably really help recalling. Sometimes Jin was grateful for not choosing to be a police instead of a bodyguard. (Well, he had wanted to be a performer of some kind, but bodyguard had always been next on the line.)

That was pretty much it. There was also some detailed information of Kamenashi's crime scene, but that was something Jin wasn't really interested in. Only thing really mattering was the new transfer location. If it was somewhere far away and Kamenashi would turn out to be an asshole, Jin's future wouldn't seem that bright. He wanted nice people around him, action, smiles and cute things. And donuts.

♦ ♣ ♥

There was two things Kamenashi Kazuya was known for. He was a) hardworking and b) strong. He wasn't afraid of anything and could take almost any situation. He also worked hard for things he had a passion for with a goal of outshining others – consciously or not. Those were his trademarks, labeled Kamenashi Kazuya TM.

But he had to admit, right now he was more scared than ever. Ready to flinch from every little sound, shaking when night came, isolating himself from everyone. Worried calls were filling up his phone's memory, and his email box was terrorized by mails asking how he was and what had happened. Kazuya didn't bother to answer anyone else but his closest friends though. Others could hear it from then. Maybe he was being cold, but right now some dude he had partied with twice and once opened up to drunk wasn't number one on his priority list.

Someone had tried to kill him. Kill him. Kill him. It didn't only awake horror in him, but also questions and theories. It was obvious by now Kaoru's death wasn't a coincidence. It was somehow reassuring, but it made him anxious. It meant there was a lunatic killer out there, just waiting for his chance. Not some random guy who had taken up a knife and broken into the first home he had caught in his eye.

Now Kazuya was sitting in a car, staring out of the window. It wasn't much use though, since windows were darkened, but he needed something to look at. The guy driving was kinda goldfish-y, hair curly and brown, face expressionless. He had only nodded at Kazuya and introduced himself as Yamashita, Kazuya's second bodyguard. The other one was already waiting at the new house Kazuya was going to live in.

”We're here,” Yamashita announced dully and stepped out of the car after stopping. He quickly walked to Kazuya's door and opened it, letting him outside. The opening view didn't give Kazuya a clue of where he was.

Yes, it was obviously outside of Tokyo, but not really countryside. Like a downtown, he could see another house in a distance. The house was big and looked luxurious, like something a celebrity would live in. Most important, it blended in other houses easily. It didn't stand out as a building owned by police and at the moment used by them and a safety company. No one didn't probably have the faintest idea of what was happening there. Police had denied Kazuya from telling his location even to his family and friends, so it should be safe too.

It was spring and flowers had started to bloom. Kazuya's home didn't even have a yard and his parents weren't much of gardeners. He had always found plants pretty, and now he had something to look at – there wouldn't be an Internet connection at all and only one television, so he would probably hang out alone or with a bodyguard a lot.

Yamashita looked at Kazuya querulously, and the younger one snapped out of his thought, realizing he had spaced out for too long. He started to walk to whatever he thought was the front door, and when Yamashita didn't stop him, suspected he was doing the right thing.

Inside the house was just as luxurious. Lots of marble and mahogany, expensive furniture and high roofs. Kazuya could see a pair of stairs leading upstairs while taking off his shoes, but wasn't sure what there would be. Maybe rooms were downstairs?

He waited until Yamashita was done and then followed the man as he led Kazuya into the livingroom (or at least it looked like that). There was two people; a young man, about his age, way too pretty to be a macho and a hair offending laws of gravity and a bit older guy, about in his thirties, straight nose and small eyes looking at everything like it was a considerable business partner. The younger one didn't even stand, but turned to look at Kazuya curiously. Older one was already standing and started bowing as soon as he saw them.
”Ah, Kamenashi-san,” he smiled shyly. ”A pleasure to meet you. I'm Kitagawa Shin, the head of Ochi corporations. I'm not going to be here for long, we are only going to discuss the rules and borderlines of this building and its usage. I also need you to sign some papers.”
Kazuya nodded, a bit confused of the polite form of speech.
”This man here,” Kitagawa continued, indicating the younger one, who was now openly staring at Kazuya like a little child, ”is Akanishi Jin. He is your personal bodyguard and going to follow you all this time.”
Akanishi nodded and Kazuya nodded back, turning then to Kitagawa. ”Excuse me, Kitagawa-san,” he started, trying to find the words, ”but how long exactly is 'all this time'?”
”If there isn't any activity on attacker's behalf in two weeks, you'll be back home,” Kitagawa nodded. ”Though still with guardians if police hasn't found out his identity yet. They are doing everything they can, mind you – it might be you won't be here even for two days!”
Kitagawa laughed heartily and Kazuya forced himself into some kind of 'ha'. He watched as the oldest one nodded at the bodyguards, who left to another room.
”Now, let's look at these contracts,” Kitagawa smiled politely and sat down, bringing Kazuya with him.

Meanwhile in the other room Jin was feeling more bored than ever. Yamashita had sat down, reading some magazine, but obviously in tension, ready to go back any minute. In that state it was useless to talk to him. Jin felt defeated, and he threw himself on the couch, staring at the ceiling. It was some kind of a guest room, futons wrapped up in the corner and colourless paintings on the walls. No television, no nothing. Magazines were all stuff Jin didn't really care for.

Well, at least Kamenashi had been a so-so, he assured himself. There would be something to look at for two weeks at highest. Then Jin would be safely back home and this gig would be over. He could live happily again and go party with his friends. And score chicks. It was a real shame Kamenashi's sister didn't live in Tokyo, police would have been sure she was going to be next and she would be living in that house too. World wasn't fair.

Jin sighed and kicked his feet in the air. Yamashita didn't even glance at him. This was going to be very, very boring – Jin started already missing company of real human beings. Kamenashi had better be nice, at least tolerable, or he wouldn't be anything but a skeleton when this gig ended. It was like Jin was feeding by company.

It took almost 30 minutes before Kitagawa called them back in. He was bowing politely all way back to hallway, and Jin could actually hear him talking to himself until the very second front door slammed shut. Yamashita woke up from the slam, bowing at Kamenashi and then disappearing in the labyrinth of house. Kamenashi looked a bit confused, but Jin knew Yamashita was double-checking everything was safe and there was no intruders. And, if he was on a good mood, he was also going to cook something yummy.

Jin turned to face Kamenashi, who was sitting on the couch and smiled sheepishly.
”I guess it's just you and me then, Kamenashi-san.”
”Looks like that,” Kamenashi shrugged. When Jin wasn't getting any further response, he mentally excused himself and sat on the opposite couch, grabbing the remote. Oh, the wonder of TV.
While the screen was showing them some meaningless drama with a young count and a super model (poor, absolutely normal teenage girl with emotional level of a broccoli and oh, so tragic past), Jin glanced at Kamenashi. He tilted his head a bit, chewing his lip before finally opening this mouth.
”Do you like it here?”
Kamenashi blinked, looking puzzled. It took some time before he answered. ”I don't really know. It looks cool though. I've never lived anywhere this fancy.”
”Yeah,” Jin grinned. ”I've been here once before, but it was only for one night and I spent it pretty much in this room.”
”They captured the murderer?”
”The lunatic,” Jin corrected. ”Someone had been stalking on our client.”
Kamenashi nodded. It became silent for few minutes, both of them staring at the TV, before he, for a change, opened his mouth. ”Aren't you going with the other guy?”
”No,” Jin answered straightly, shooking his head. ”I'm supposed to be with you all the time. We are legally bounded not to leave you without any kind of company in to a room.”
”Legally bounded? That sounds harsh.”
”It was specially demanded by the police.”

Kazuya didn't answer anymore, staring at the TV, not really seeing anything. He could hear Akanishi chat something random, clearly trying to get some kind of attention. Specially demanded. What the hell was going on? What had he dragged himself into?
